Dear colleagues and friends,

Welcome to the First International CONGRESS of SSES in Belgrade, from 22-23 November 2024.

The necessity of the times we live in is the establishment of a functional emergency system of the highest quality, since we are, unfortunately, witnesses of huge natural and social disasters. The importance of education in emergency surgery trauma and mass casualties’ treatment is immeasurable in light of current events.

Two days lasting congress of intensive scientific program, accredited by the Health Council of Serbia and the European platform MedTech Europe, is to be held in 1100m2 of a congress space with the master framework including experts’ lectures followed by oral and poster sessions parallelly. We will be honored to host some of the most important names in the field of emergency surgery today. The first day of the Congress will be dedicated to the exceptional topic of trauma, whereas the second day of the Congress will cover the topic of critically ill emergency surgical patients.

We strongly believe this gathering shall present the latest global trends in emergency surgery and trauma multidisciplinary management followed by evidence-based guidance for best clinical practice. Attention will be directed to the specific areas of digestive surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery and radiology which will bring together surgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine specialists and other members of the emergency rescue team.

First SSES congress provides an opportunity for each participant to connect with experts, make important professional contacts and strengthen friendships. Only those who are fighting the same battles in emergency surgery know how important it is to have a friend on the battlefield. Our mission is to spread knowledge, the exchange of ideas, all with the aim of improving the treatment of our patients.

Finally, the whole event will complement the traditional Serbian hospitality.
